Introduction

I hope to teach geometry and statistics to high school students, though I may end up teaching other math classes.  In addition, my goal is to teach in a Catholic high school.  As a teacher, I hope to help my students find and develop their passion.  I realize that many students have an anxiety associated with math, but I want students to realize that while math can be found in any context, they do not have to avoid that aspect of their favorite things.  Whether talking about sports' statistics or the weather forecast, I want my students to see the real world applications of simple mathematics in their every day lifestyle.  By allowing students the opportunity to develop their own projects in a variety of contexts, while providing them with minimal requirements, I hope to help my students not only develop a passion for something, but also begin develop into the men and women that they hope to be in the future.
